An FX Replay alternative with your journal built in
Both replay the market bar by bar with the future hidden. TradeAssay also keeps the journal of the trades you take for real.
FX Replay is a focused, polished backtesting tool, and if all you want is to replay charts it does that well. This page will not pretend otherwise.
What TradeAssay adds is the other half of the job: your live trades, synced from MetaTrader or imported from your broker, measured in the same reports as your backtests. And its Pro plan is $9.99 a month, where FX Replay's paid plans started at $17.99 when this page was checked in October 2026.
| TradeAssay | FX Replay | |

| Free plan | Yes — the journal never expires, plus 2 backtest sessions | Yes — 2 backtest sessions of 50 trades, 1 indicator |
| Backtest sessions on the cheapest paid plan | Unlimited | 10 |
| Journal of live trades, with MetaTrader 4 / 5 sync | Yes, read-only, at any MT broker — MT5 from our own servers, no EA | Not listed on its pricing page |

The same replay, then the real thing
Rewind the chart to any date in its history, hide everything after it, and trade forward one candle at a time with a real order ticket — lots, leverage, margin, stop and target — on up to 16 charts at once, with TradingView Pine indicators running on the replay.
Then journal the trades you take live, synced read-only from MetaTrader or imported from your broker, and compare the two in the same reports, measured in R. Backtests live in their own account, so they never mix with your live results.

Rehearse a prop challenge before you pay for one
Run a prop firm's challenge on a backtest: the daily loss limit, maximum drawdown and profit target are checked on every candle, at the exact price that would break them, stage by stage — FTMO, FundingPips and other firms' rules.
When you take the challenge for real, the same rules are tracked on your live account, with a daily-loss circuit breaker.
- News on the replay: a click jumps to the moment of an economic release
- Real historical prices in one-minute bars, not simulated ones
- English and Persian, with Persian prices payable in toman inside Iran

Where FX Replay is ahead
It is a dedicated backtesting product with a much longer track record and a larger community, and its paid plans have tools TradeAssay does not, such as Monte Carlo and risk-reward simulators, and custom timeframes on Pro.
If you only ever backtest and never journal live trades, FX Replay's free plan may be all you need. TradeAssay makes sense when you want your backtests and your real trades in one place, measured the same way.
Before you switch.
Is TradeAssay cheaper than FX Replay?
Yes. TradeAssay Pro is $9.99/month or $79.99/year. When this page was checked in October 2026, FX Replay's Intermediate plan was $17.99/month or $180/year and its Pro plan $35/month or $350/year.
Does TradeAssay have a free plan like FX Replay?
Yes. It never expires and needs no card: the journal with MetaTrader sync and import, the core reports, playbooks and 2 backtest sessions. A new account also gets 7 days of Pro by itself.
Is the backtest data real?
Yes — real historical prices in one-minute bars across forex, metals, indices, CME futures, US stocks and crypto, replayed bar by bar with the future hidden. It is not simulated price.
How can I pay?
By card or wallet — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay — through Paddle.com, our merchant of record; or in crypto: USDT, USDC, Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB, Solana or TRON.
